Structured Data Installation Across Multiple Units

We recently completed a large-scale structured data cabling installation across several industrial units, designed to improve connectivity, support wireless coverage, and future-proof the site for expanding IT needs.

Scope of Works

Containment systems: Over 140 metres of steel cable basket installed, ensuring data cabling was kept neatly segregated from mains services in compliance with BS7671.

  1. Wireless access points: A total of 42 new high-level CAT6 data points were installed across three units, providing reliable cabling routes for wireless access points.

  2. Data outlets: 68 low-level data points installed, complete with back boxes, faceplates, and Cat6 RJ45 modules for desktops and operational equipment.

  3. Cabinet works: All cabling was terminated into existing comms cabinets, with new patch panels, cable management, labelling, and Fluke certification provided for a total of ~300 points.

Attention to Detail

All cabling used was CAT6 U/UTP LSZH, chosen for durability, fire safety, and compliance. Each run was neatly supported using clips, conduit, and containment. Labelling and as-fitted drawings were completed to give the client a clear overview of the installation.

Results

The project delivered over 200 fully tested and certified connections across multiple units, significantly enhancing network capability and wireless performance. The system is designed to be scalable, supporting future expansion and providing a robust backbone for ongoing digital transformation.
